We provide care for children from the ages of 6 weeks to 12* years of age and will be open Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We encourage social, emotional, cognitive, language, fine and gross motor skill activities depending on the child's age. All areas of development will be promoted through active play and participation in a variety of group and individual activities. These areas include social interaction, self-expression, exploration, communication and manipulation. Emphasis will be placed on learning to interact in acceptable ways; such as, sharing, participating in group activities, taking turns and making decisions independently. All children need to grow and learn through a wide variety of activities and experiences and the goal is to provide the opportunities to fulfill these needs. We will do arts and crafts, group activities, song and finger play. The rooms will include Learning Centers; such as, a House (dramatic play) Center, reading center, Art Center and Science Center, which are designed to provide needed stimulation for creative play, cognitive development and social growth. We will explore our surroundings and nature. Weather permitting; we will use our outside play yard. Daily planning will be done leaving room for unexpected interest that may have developed. Teachers will introduce a letter, color and weekly theme and our activities will be developed around this theme. The letter, color and theme will also be listed on the bulletin board for parents/guardians to read. This enables the parents to become involved in what their child is learning. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to reinforce at home what is being taught at the Center.

* - After School Program (5 years to 12 years) will depend on space availability.

Social Development is a very important area for children in their formative years. Group participation and individual personal relationships are nurtured and promoted. Dealing with one's peers is a cornerstone for future social and intellectual pursuits. We want each child to understand the value of sharing and cooperating as well as respecting the feelings of others.

Intellectual Development is promoted through our structural and organized programs; such as, learning and discovery centers, which have been designed by our Certified Teacher specifically for each age group.

Emotional Development is accomplished by installing a "positive" self image through positive reinforcement of social and learning skill.

Physical Development is provided through our Gross Motor Skills Program. We want to help each child develop full muscular coordination, as well as health and safety habits.

Cultural Development is nurtured by introducing children to different ethnic, racial and cultural backgrounds.

Our Program encompasses these five basic and important areas of growth for the total development of your child.
We understand that it is difficult to leave your child with a child care provider, so it is important to us to provide a "home away from home" for your child--a place where your child can develop and learn in a loving, caring and nurturing environment. We strive to create an atmosphere in which you feel comfortable leaving your child and where your child looks forward to coming.

Each child is a unique individual growing and developing at his/her own rate. Our Center is small enough to provide individual attention though large enough to enhance your child's own individual, physical, emotional, social and cognitive development.

Rattles to Reading provides care for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age and is open Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We strongly encourage parent involvement. We want each parent to feel secure about leaving their child in our care, and we welcome any suggestions or opinions you may have. We invite you to visit us anytime and observe the children in action. Also, do not hesitate to call us anytime to discuss any questions you may have regarding our Center and your child's enrollment.

OUR GOAL is to provide loving, caring, quality child care, creating a home away from home,
while meeting the child's developing physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs.
